Jean-Marc Vallée has made a great name for himself in the last few years, following up Dallas Buyers Club with two hit HBO miniseries, Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects.

He's a great director with an excellent eye, although he's not typically what you'd imagine from a Bond director (which is probably a good thing), but Deadline notes that his schedule - he's making Big Little Lies Season 2 - makes it unlikely he'd be able to take the job.
