Jamie Dornan: 10 Previous Roles You May Have Missed

3. The Fall

The big time for Dornan, in that he€™d finally found a role where he got to show off his acting talents, as well as a darker side many had yet to realise he even had in him. Serial killer Paul Spector is - perhaps worryingly telling of what kind of film the adaptation is - the part that probably got producers looking at Dornan for Fifty Shades. BBC€™s The Fall is one of the best shows to come out of the UK in the last few years, a gripping procedural centred around Gillian Anderson€™s detective on the hunt for a serial killer preying on the women of Belfast, though it€™s not Anderson but Dornan who makes the biggest impact. The Fall features quite easily the actor's best performance to date, making use of those slightly too-menacing eyes and the smouldering intensity that seems to be hiding be hiding behind the more pleasant façade.
