8. The Gargoyle

The image of Batman standing atop a gargoyle looking out over Gotham is now so over-used it's basically part of staples of his cinematic lexicon, like hands being cut off in Star Wars or Pixar films destroying your bloody life.

Snyder uses the shot in Justice League - as shown in the teaser for Batman that preceded the second trailer - but his, inevitably, comes with a deeper reference to the comics. The Grim Reaper gargoyle is taken from the front cover of Detective Comics 682 from February 1995.

There are no narrative links to that comic, as it was all about KGBeast and the remains of Troika, but it's still a nice nod all the same.
