M. Night Shyamalan's Glass: 7 Plot Predictions

7. Kevin Recognises Elijah As "Pure" And Sides With Him

When the movie opens, Kevin/The Beast will be looking to fulfil the goal he mentioned near the end of Split: to rid the world of those who are "impure".

"Impure", from Kevin's point of view, describes a person who has never suffered in their lives, a person who is untouched and has never known pain. This is why he spares Casey at the end of Split; she has been abused by her uncle and has many scars on her body, and The Beast views those who are troubled as exceptional.

And if your goal was to rid the world of impure people who have never suffered, wouldn't your first port of call be to murder the purest person on the planet, a man who can never be hurt and can never become ill?

That man is David Dunn, and he will be Kevin's mission. But in order to get to Dunn, Kevin needs someone with information on the man, someone who's dealt with him before - someone like Elijah/Mr. Glass.

Kevin recognises Elijah as "pure" due to his brittle-bone condition. He's suffered his whole life, being bullied by kids at school and unable to live normally - he's exactly the type of person The Beast would sympathise with. This helps bring the two together.

Plus, Kevin and Elijah both have a common goal; to face David. Kevin wants to rid the world of the pure, and David is the purest of the pure. Elijah views David as his "opposite", as his arch-enemy. Kevin learns that Elijah has a history with David, so enlists his help to take him down.
