This entry is a devastating trilogy of documentaries The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills (1996), Revelations (2000) and Purgatory (2011) which all follow the trial of three teenage boys charged with the torture and murder of three pre-teens in the backwoods of West Memphis. The controversial trials that these young men endured spanned two decades and the abuse they suffer at the hands of the media and public still continues today. This one is not for the faint of heart: It's certainly the grizzlier, more grown up older brother of Making a Murderer. With twists that are so incredible youd be hard pressed to find more thrilling fiction, and if you managed to, youd disregard it as unbelievable. The follow-up documentary, West of Memphis (2012) that brings the case right up to date, is a poignant full stop at the end of this chilling episode in recent crime history. Where can you see it?
