4. Dear Zachary: A Letter To A Son About His Father (2008)
In 2001, Andrew Bagby was senselessly murdered on his way to work, and soon after, his girlfriend announced that she was having Andrews baby, to be later named Zachary. As a gift to Zachary, Kurt Kuenne, a close friend, decided to make a film about his father. What he captured was the impending murder case, which implicated Zacharys mother, who fled to Newfoundland, the familys anguish and a custody lawsuit between Zacharys freed mother and Andrews parents. Its difficult to say much more without spoiling what transpires, but one thing is certain; you should see this film before reading about the case, as the revelations are stunning. If you were told to expect a sad story and tribute of a good man to his son, you would have been undersold, as the story develops to a harrowing crescendo. Where can you see it?
