MCU: 10 Underrated X-Men Who Should Lead Instead Of Wolverine

10. Angel

Angel is perhaps not underrated in the way some of the later entires here are, seeing as the name will likely ring a bell for even the most casual comic book fans. However, after only minor appearances in the FoX-Men saga, here’s hoping the MCU gets him right.

He’s a major part of the Apocalypse arc, but because Fox didn’t seem to have any forward planning, Fox’s Apocalypse just didn’t have the weight. His story there simply wasn’t compelling because who he was had never been sold to the audience as it has in the comics.

In X-Men: The Last Stand, it’s even worse. They try to use him as a symbol for discrimination, never attempting to connect him to the main plot until right at the end. As a founder member of the X-Men, he deserves so much better.

Warren Worthington III’s self absorbed, overly privileged nature would be interesting in the MCU; he ticks a lot of the Tony Stark boxes but with none of the charm. His feathered wings are hugely cinematic too, and would provide quite the spectacle in the MCU, especially alongside Valkyrie’s Pegasus.
