13. Shrek 5

Though it's been dangerously close to 20 years (!) since the last Shrek film, the franchise has remained hugely popular, and so it's basically a foregone conclusion that the belated fifth movie is going to be a monstrous hit.

The new sequel will catch up with Shrek (Mike Myers), Donkey (Eddie Murphy), and Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) as they head to a city called Further Further Away along with Shrek and Fiona's three kids, played by Zendaya, Skyler Gisondo, and Marcello Hernández.

Though there's been understandable pushback against the new animation style, which hews a touch more "realistic" than the previous films, the trailer at least suggests that Shrek 5 will be another rollicking whirlwind adventure jam-packed with witty fourth wall-breaking humour.

In the very least, there's a good chance it's better than the rather middling previous two Shrek films, and if it's enough of a hit we surely won't be left waiting so long for another sequel.
