4. The Boy in the Iron Box

The Boy in the Iron Box is based on the horror short story by Guillermo del Toro and his The Strain co-writer Chuck Hogan, in which a plane-full of mercenaries crash-lands in the remote tundra.

There they find a maze-like stone fortress, and in addition to facing both wolves and mother nature's elements, they'll also have to contend with a disturbing secret housed within the fortress.

Del Toro's involvement alone is enough to be excited about this, but it's also being directed by David Prior, whose 2020 feature debut The Empty Man swiftly became a cult classic, after which Prior also directed the best episode of Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities series, "The Autopsy."

Prior teaming up with Del Toro once again is a clearly heavenly match, and a solid cast led by Rupert Friend, Kevin Durand, and Jaeden Martell sure doesn't hurt either.

It's just a shame that, as a Netflix Original, most folk won't get a chance to savour those inevitably awe-striking visuals on the big screen.
