Born into similar wealth as Bruce Wayne, Roman Sionis (a.k.a Black Mask) murdered his own parents before inheriting and ruining his fathers cosmetics company. Sionis blamed Bruce Wayne for his failures, and was reborn in his parents crypt as Black Mask; a powerful crime lord who has a life-long hatred of not just the Batman, but of Bruce Wayne and the entire Wayne family name. How it Could Work: Very easily. Roman Sionis essentially went bat-shit crazy after losing his fortune and being bailed out by Wayne Enterprises. He carved an Ebony mask out of his fathers coffin and redubbed himself Black Mask. But hes essentially just a man. This wouldnt be difficult for Warner Bros. to pull off in the slightest and would fit neatly into the more serious Batman canon that Nolan left behind. Who Could Play Him: Were thinking someone with a rich, well-spoken voice; maybe someone like Hugo Weaving or even Michael Fassbender. And theres no real need for special-effects trickery; just the mask and the performance will do fine. Likelihood: Perhaps not hugely likely. Its a bit of a stretch to say that hes one of Batmans most well-known villains, but hes certainly important to the main canon (hell, most of the Villains are). You never know though, Warner Bros. might look to keep to the Nolan path, and Black Mask is certainly one of the less outrageous rogues in the gallery.
