20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck
8. One Mile: Chapter One & Two
One of the stranger cinematic experiments in recent times, One Mile is a two-part action-thriller starring Ryan Phillippe as a retired Special Forces soldier who must spring into action when his daughter is kidnapped.
It's a card-carrying Dad Movie in the vein of Taken, with Paramount promising, nay threatening, that it would be one epic story told across two movies, both of which were puzzlingly released the exact same day back in February.
The trailer made it look almost laughably generic from top to bottom, and considering the two films have a combined runtime of just less than three hours, you have to wonder why it wasn't just released as a four-part mini-series instead.
The performances are fine enough, but this is so flagrantly unambitious as storytelling goes that you'll likely start forgetting it before the end credits have even rolled on Chapter Two - if you even make it that far.
