20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck
20. Greenland 2: Migration
As surprisingly entertaining as 2020's disaster film Greenland was, there were more than a few red flags surrounding the recent sequel, Greenland 2: Migration.
For one, it took well over five years to finally materialise, suggesting a strained development for a film that, as a sequel to a pandemic-era hit, needed to strike while the iron was hot. This thing should've been out by 2023 at the absolute latest.
Beyond that, the marketing made it clear that this bigger-scale sequel lacked the unexpected intimacy of the original film, which for all of its post-apocalyptic mayhem succeeded because it focused so intently on the central family fighting to survive.
And finally, it was announced to be rocking a colossal $90 million budget - more than double the original's $35 million, suggesting to some that Greenland 2 was set to be a bloated sequel that forgot what actually made the original work.
Sadly this follow-up indeed lost itself to nonsensical plotting and a deeply disappointing ending, again proving that some stories are better left as one-offs.
