The Nominees: Carol, Cinderella, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Danish Girl, The Revenant

Who Will Win? Sandy Powell (Carol)

Who Should Win? Sandy Powell (Carol)

Costume design is the worst category to predict as it operates almost entirely independent of a movie's quality (that's how The Danish Girl can get a look in - zing). All of these are in with a shot, although discounting Mad Max and The Revenant's noms as fillers to back their Best Picture runs, the clear favourite here for me would be Carol. And given how great the aesthetic of that film is, I can't disagree with it either.
