The 100-Year-Old Man Who Couldn't Let A Title Be A Reasonable Length is the shock appearance here, but it's really just an honorary thing. And thus we're left with Mad Max and The Revenant (the conflict this whole Oscar season appears to be boiling down to). Given its period setting and stellar wound-work (and lip chapping) The Revenant is likely to edge out Max. Although should it? The design across Fury Road was phenomenal, but the attention to detail in things as minor as the distinct make-up of the War Boys is particularly commendable.
