Justin Hurwitz, who won here for La La Land, is once again the man to beat for his stunning work on First Man. He's already racked up nine wins, so a nomination is basically guaranteed. Likewise, Oscar favourite Alexandra Desplat (Isle of Dogs), Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Mary Poppins Returns), and Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther) have been regularly nominated too.

Joining them is likely one from either Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place), who score a Golden Globes nod, Nicholas Britell (If Beale Street Could Talk), who was nominated at the Critics' Choice, or BlackKklansman's Terence Blanchard, who received a BAFTA nomination.
