20. Costume Design
Costume Design typically rewards period pieces and fantasy (and if you combined the two, even better), with Phantom Thread - a movie about fashion design - winning last year.
The regal period design of The Favourite should make that the, er, favourite here, while this looks like one of the categories where Black Panther, which mixed superheroes with deeply-researched African culture, has a real shot. As with the other big awards, it's likely to be rounded out by Mary Queen of Scots, Mary Poppins Returns, and then either Bohemian Rhapsody or Crazy Rich Asians. Fantastic Beasts 2 has a chance as well, though a lack of Guild nomination suggests it won't get a look in.
