Ironically, the first year that the Academy has expanded the Best Makeup & Hairstyling field from three nominees to five is also one of the most clear-cut and non-competitive years in recent memory.

Nothing stands a hope in hell of derailing Bombshell here unless the Academy really trips over itself for Joker (after all, Suicide Squad did win the award back in 2017).

No matter what you think of the rest of the movie, Bombshell's mind-bogglingly transformative makeup should net the team a well-earned Academy Award.
