Joe Walker will hopefully scoop his first win on his third nomination for his sublime work on Dune, truncating Denis Villeneuve's colossal epic down into a pacy, digestible form that encompasses so many characters, plots, and locations.

What Will Win: Dune

Best Film Editing is historically a decent predictor of the Best Picture winner, though that's certainly become less true in recent years, and the sheer ambition and execution of Dune's editing seems unlikely to be unseated, having been the hot favourite basically all season.
