This is a very strong year for the production design category and honestly any of the five films would be worthy winners at the end of the day.

Yet Patrice Vermette and Zsuzsanna Sipos' work on Dune is so utterly pivotal - and successful - in transporting the audience to another world. If that failed, Denis Villeneuve's magic trick wouldn't work.

What Will Win: Dune

Dune has been smashing the below-the-line categories and understandably so - you can practically taste the sands of Arrakis, in large part because the production design is so epic and evocative.
