Predicting The Rotten Tomatoes Scores Of 2026's Biggest Movies

3. Toy Story 5 (91%)

The Toy Story franchise has proven itself to be critically bullet-proof to date, with the original trilogy scoring 100%, 100%, and 98% respectively, while even the arguably unnecessary fourth film still landed a mighty 96%.

Yet it's fair to say that there's considerably greater scepticism over the impending Toy Story 5, many feeling that Pixar got a free pass with the indulgence of the fourth film while a fifth feels like actively milking the cash cow for every possible drop.

After all, Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz's (Tim Allen) storylines felt tidily tied off by the end of number four, and the new sequel's premise revolving around the toys competing with screen devices for kids' attention seems rather uninspired in 2026.

But it'd probably be foolish to bet against Toy Story at this point, especially with the venerable Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, WALL-E) serving as writer-director.

While the average score likely won't get anywhere close to those of the O.G. trilogy, Toy Story 5 will probably easily clear 90% on the Tomatometer regardless, delivering the funny and heartfelt - if wildly not-needed - goods.
