Alexander Payne is one of the more intriguing modern directors as all of his movies have their own distinct style. Payne's first movie since the Descendants in 2011, Nebraska tells of a father and son who embark on a road trip from Montana to Nebraska to claim a million dollar Publisher€™s Clearing House sweepstakes prize. With a different director, a film with that plot would probably be a bit of a bore but under Payne's supervision, Nebraska will more then likely be a very interesting, affecting film. Payne went against conventional wisdom and choose lesser known actors who fit the parts better for the main parts in the movie instead of more prominent actors and hopefully by doing so, Nebraska will have a very naturalistic feel to it. Nebraska will likely be up for several Academy Awards next year, as well as many year end top 10 lists as Payne continues his streak of winning films.
