The Ending: Gerard Butler's hero Jake Lawson pulls an Armageddon, sacrificing himself to save Earth from a series of malfunctioning, climate-controlling satellites.

Geostorm looks like a terrifically stupid, ludicrously entertaining avalanche of disaster movie cliches, and considering that the film will also feature Lawson's ex-wife and young daughter, what easier, lazier way to wring emotion out of the scenario than having Jake die to save Earth?

Moments before he blows up the satellites and annihilates himself in the process, he can even have a sat-video link with his family for maximum emotional manipulation. You know it's going to happen, and you're probably going to love every cheeseball second of it.
