Critical Consensus: "A wildly entertaining start to a promising new franchise, Fantastic Beasts finds a plucky new hero with Eddie Redmayne while staying true to J.K. Rowling's knack for imaginative adventure."

There's virtually no chance of this one being a critical bust, given that Rowling herself is writing it and Potter director David Yates is on-board. Plus, the supporting cast is insane and includes the likes of Colin Farrell, Katharine Waterston, Ron Perlman, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller and Jon Voight.

Whether it quite reaches these critical heights remains to be seen, but considering that Potter at its best scored an insane 96% (Deathly Hallows Part 2), it's certainly possible.
