25. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

After the success of the first Pirates Of The Caribbean, the follow-up was given a healthy shot of hype in the arm. Fans already knew they loved Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow and everything else around him was pretty much just a bonus. He was basically the reason why it became only the third movie ever to reach the billion dollar mark.
But Dead Man's Chest has other things going for it: Bill Nighy's villainous Davy Jones is great fun and the effects work on him - and his whole crew, really - is still stunning. There are some mixed results in there, mostly because there's just way too much plot and it's too long, but it gets away with it a lot better than At World's End did. And Depp's performance was still lots of fun at this point.
