The second part of what was originally designed to be a single two-part narrative, the Justice League sequel will now be stand-alone - and will probably continue Darkseid's story. Just don't expect the first one to set it up with a cliff-hanger.
Positives?
If the first film works, the second one will immediately jump up the hype ladder, and the vague promise of Green Lantern possibly joining up properly is a big deal for fans of the character.
Concerns?
Zack Snyder was originally still linked with the directing gig, which probably isn't the best thing for the project, particularly with Joss Whedon taking over the reins on the first movie. But for now the jury is definitely out, without prior knowledge of how good Justice League is going to be.
