Box Office: Made for a modest $7.4 million, the horror flick has grossed a solid $24 million to date. Not a breakout horror smash, but probably enough to guarantee a sequel.

Verdict: Well, it's not quite as terrible as most expected it to be, but despite a few good ideas, The Bye Bye Man is a mostly slack, frequently unintentionally hilarious PG-13 horror romp with poor direction and incredulous appearances from Oscar winner Faye Dunaway and Carrie-Anne Moss.

With a stronger script and a more skilled filmmaker at the helm, this could've been surprisingly good, but instead it settles for "not quite the dumpster fire we anticipated."
