Box Office: The Ben Foster-starring drama grossed just north of $200,000 in its opening U.S. weekend, and though no budgetary data is available, there's no way that's enough to make a dent.
Verdict: Debra Granik's (Winter's Bone) first feature film in eight years lives up to colossal expectations, delivering a subtle and unassuming yet terrifically involving, unconventional father-daughter drama.
Ben Foster is typically fantastic, while his young co-star Thomasin McKenzie is a major find and gives one of the most impressive performances of any on-the-rise actor this year.
The pacing could be tightened up in a few places, but the meditative beauty of Granik's tale is a reward in of itself.
