ChloƩ Zhao's life-affirming portrayal of America's nomad community scored a fair victory when it won Best Picture at the 2020 Oscars, but despite making for a powerful movie it still wasn't quite as good as Isaac Lee Chung's drama Minari.

Both films are stories about people living life on their own terms despite the obstacles in their way, but Minari's core family values and depiction of immigrant life in America gives it a slight edge on the competition.

Moving and powerfully performed, Minari is a future classic, richly portraying immigrant life with heart and soul to spare.
