10. Cold Storage

Cold Storage seemingly had a lot going for it on paper - a sci-fi horror-comedy based on a well-received novel written by one of Hollywood's most successful writers, with a stellar ensemble cast including Joe Keery, Liam Neeson, Georgina Campbell, Vanessa Redgrave, and Lesley Manville.

Yet the film spent two and a half years in post-production purgatory before finally releasing back in February, where despite mostly positive reviews it was dropped in just 1,041 North American cinemas with only the bare minimum of marketing.

This is all par for the course for distributor Samuel Goldwyn Films, which has just a few recent box office hits to its name, with most of its releases scraping a few million dollars theatrically before evaporating into the ether.

And so true to form, Cold Storage went on to gross just $4.1 million, and while its budget hasn't been publicly disclosed, it clearly wasn't low enough to make that figure satisfactory, especially with the high-profile cast and VFX-heavy production.
