8. Aunt Gladys - Weapons

Zach Cregger's superb Weapons served up one of the most unforgettable horror movie villains of the entire decade with its terrifying witch Gladys (played to perfection by an Oscar-winning Amy Madigan).

And boy, she sure got a demise worthy of the fresh hell she wrought upon the residents of Maybrook throughout the film.

After using a spell to kidnap 17 children and feed off their energy, not to mention causing the deaths of numerous other people, Gladys gets a taste of her own medicine when her "nephew" Alex (Cary Christopher) uses a strand of her hair to turn the spell against her.

This compels the aforementioned kidnapped children to storm out of the basement and chase after her like, well, laser-guided weapons.

All a petrified Gladys can do is run like hell through the neighbourhood, but the kids - who will stop at nothing to reach her - eventually tackle her to the ground and tear her apart, in turn breaking the spell.

Sure, you might've assumed that Gladys would be vanquished at the end, but did anyone see that insane fate befalling her?
