7. Adrian Griffin - The Invisible Man (2020)

Leigh Whannell's clever reimagining of The Invisible Man did a stellar job of making us all absolutely loathe the title character - abusive optics magnate Adrian Griffin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen).

In addition to faking his death and using his invisibility suit to make his ex Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) appear insane, he also murders her sister Emily (Harriet Dyer) and frames her for it.

But at the end of the story Cecilia manages to turn the tables on Adrian in supremely crowd-pleasing fashion.

When Adrian re-emerges from hiding and arranges a meeting with Cecilia at his house, she goes to the bathroom and equips one of his invisibility suits she previously hid, before slitting Adrian's throat and making it appear as though he committed suicide to the nearby security camera.

Cecilia then takes off the suit and calls 911, all while watching the life drain out of her tormentor, setting herself on a path for some well-deserved inner peace.
