Here we get Peter looking like a lovesick puppy, staring at Liz in a way that doesn't become creepy at all, and accompanied by his best friend Ned Leeds (played by Jacob Batalan).

Although Leeds is a character from the comics, he's typically older than Peter, working at the Daily Bugle and eventually with him, but not together as best buds at school.
