3. Star Trek 3 To Have Some Truly Memorable Cameos
If there's any Star Trek film that deserves to have the return of classic actors then it's the one being released during it's 50th anniversary. Now we're not saying we need every actor from all five series and the dog from Enterprise to turn up. But as Doctor Who's Day Of The Doctor proved, a cameo like Tom Baker's can be done beautifully if treated right, acting as a celebration of the franchise's history and not a meaningless appeal to the fans. We've recently had rumours that William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy may be making an appearance as an older Kirk and Spock. There is no reason on a film like Star Trek that we couldn't have some ingenious cameos from other memorable actors. Perhaps get all the captains in make up to play a host of aliens - Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew and Avery Brooks as Talosians or Michael Dorn as Worf's great grandfather? It has to be done right, but it could serve as a fitting tribute to all the stars of Star Trek from the last fifty years.
