Ewan McGregor's performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the very few consensus good things from the prequel trilogy, with the actor doing a convincing portrayal of the Jedi as a younger man. Because of that, and McGregor's own enthusiasm for a return, there has been plenty of chatter about a comeback, especially since they announced they were making standalone films. Now, while an Obi-Wan spin-off has been rumoured for some time, the latest word is that it won't just be one film, but - according to the Schmoes Know podcast - McGregor's in talks with Disney for an entire trilogy of films, set post-Episode III. Rating: 2/10 The reason that this gets a 2, and not a 1 (or even a 0), is that there's still a chance McGregor will return to the role of Obi-Wan, either in his own Star Wars Story or as a cameo in another film. But while one movie is plausible, an entire trilogy? Based on what, his years living as an hermit on Tatooine? I'm not really sure post-Revenge of the Sith Kenobi is something we need to see anyway, but there could admittedly be a satisying story to be found there in one film. 3? Not at all. Given Star Wars is very clearly about the main trilogy, and then these side films, it just makes no sense.
