4. Rey Is A Skywalker

According to concept artist Iain McCaig, who appeared at the Art And Industry Of Imagination conference in New Zealand, there was an early draft of The Phantom Menace that had Shmi and Qui-Gon romantically linked, and while it didn't make it into the film, remnants of the idea remain. He then segued, apparently into saying "...And now we have a new Skywalker.”

So could Luke have had a secret affair with a normal citizen between teaching Jedi skills? Was the intended relationship between Shmi and Qui-Gon revived for Luke and Rey's mother?

McCaig himself has distanced himself from the quotes attributed to him (though he did flatly refuse to comment based on fear of spoiling). And it's too much to expect Luke to be Rey's father after Kylo Ren was revealed to be Ben Solo.

That doesn't mean she can't still be a Skywalker of course - she could be related to Leia, or somehow to Anakin? Or maybe she genuinely IS him reincarnated?
