5. Maz Kanata Is Back

Having conspicuously disappeared during the assault on Takodana in The Force Awakens, Maz Kanata will return once more for Episode VIII.

Quite what role she will play remains to be seen, but if Rey is seeking answers, she will presumably follow the trail back to one of the only people she's met aside from Luke who seems to know something about her.

Most tellingly, director Rian Johnson posted images to his Tumblr seeming to show Maz in the performance capture stages.

Plus the fact that we never saw her die suggests she's coming back. Occasionally common sense does have a place in movie speculation.
