Star Wars: Ranking The Lightsaber Battles From Worst To Best

8. Qui-Gon Jinn Vs Darth Maul - The Phantom Menace

Ah, Darth Maul, the galaxy's most underused villain. With nothing more than half a dozen lines and very little screen time, Darth Maul casts a very memorable shadow. His duel with Qui-Gon in the desert might be the shortest duel in the Star Wars saga, but it didn't disappoint. On the other hand, like the rest of The Phantom Menace, this scene is filled with logical black holes. Obi-Wan really didn't sense a disturbance in the force happening a hundred feet away when Qui-Gon was first attacked? The ridiculously acrobatic Maul couldn't make the same jump into the ship as Qui-Gon? Why was Qui-Gon leading Anakin, a nine year old kid at the time, by fifteen feet if he sensed something was wrong? Etc, etc, etc...
