Another gripping scene from Episode III is the shocking demise of Mace Windu at the electric hands of the Emperor. This is a very short duel, but it packs an explosive charge of storytelling. Palpatine finally reveals his true form, cutting through Jedi knights with his own lightsaber before facing off with Mace. When Palpatine is deprived of his lightsaber get see him literally transform into the hideous Emperor as he scars his own face with the dark side of the force. The prequels did an excellent job leading up to this moment. Anakin is torn between a tough decision: saving the evil Palpatine who befriended him at a young age or standing by Mace Windu, a Jedi he has never particularly liked. Anakin makes his choice and crosses the point of no return in a gripping moment of guilt.
