Star Wars: The WORST Scene In Every Skywalker Saga Film
9. A New Hope: Jabba The Hutt's Cameo
Unfortunately for many Star Wars fans, George Lucas couldn’t leave well enough alone when it came to the original Star Wars movies. As technology advanced, he insisted on returning to his old efforts and ‘improving’ them with the latest in computer generated imagery.
The most infamous of these alterations from A New Hope is obviously Greedo shooting first before Han returns fire and kills him, in an effort to make the latter character more family friendly in his actions. But perhaps even worse is the scene where Jabba the Hutt confronts Han Solo just before he boards the Millennium Falcon.
This scene was actually filmed back in 1977, with the intention of have Jabba as a stop-motion character, but was cut because it was useless filler that didn’t add anything to the film. It still doesn’t.
Even with the audience now knowing how important Jabba will become later on in the trilogy, it still grinds the action of the movie to a halt for no real reason.
Here’s hoping that some day we can get the original cut of the movie back without all the bells and whistles.
