Stargate SG-1 Cast: Where Are They Now?
23. Jay Acovone
Although Acovone didn't originate the role of Kawalsky (the character appeared in the Stargate 1994 film portrayed by a different actor), he completely made the character his own, even if he only appeared in the show for a brief stint.
Kawalsky is quickly taken by a Goa'uld symbiont and that could have been the end of him, but Acovone endeared himself to fans so much that the character was brought back thanks to the alternate reality mirror.
Acovone had been acting for years before joining the show, appearing in a small role in Independence Day as well. Since SG-1, he has appeared on CSI, NCIS, Vegas and The Mentalist. He also provided the voice and motion capture for Sal Marcana, in the video game Mafia III.
In 2017, he performed, along with Adrian Paul, the audio-book version of Wildcards: Dead Man's Hand, by George R.R. Martin.
