3. Rick Flagg's Roll Call

A scene featured heavily in the trailers had Flagg reading out the profiles for each squad member, giving apt descriptions to each one. Deadshot “shoots people”, Killer Croc “eats people” and Harley is “just crazy.”

Aside from being an ode to classic ensemble war movies like The Dirty Dozen, where the bad deeds of the so-called “heroes” are laid out, it also would have fleshed out Flagg’s relationship with June. The finished movie doesn’t let us get to know them before the craziness goes down, but in this scene she would have helped him research Task Force X, and another scene would have seen them on a date.

These early moments would have helped the ending where Flagg is mourning her supposed death, which is tough to relate to since their love story wasn’t properly fleshed out.
