A lot has been said about David Ayer's decision not to go with a more notable villain, but as he always said, the story he based the film in is straight out of canon. It might be slightly different, but the Enchantress/Incubus story was taken from the pages of the Nightshade Odyssey.

So did David Ayer invite Alain to read the arc before the film? Of course - and not only that, it's what he used as a basis for a big part of the audition:

"Yes he did before the third audition/chemistry read with Cara."

Does that mean he actively wanted to encourage a chemistry that was more like the source (the pair seek to procreate to provide a host body to their father?
