9. It Hasn't Been "Marvelised"

Despite those accusations of meddling and the rumours of reshoots adding levity and humour, the reviews seem pretty united on the assessment that Ayer's vision is adult, grubby and dark.

Hopefully it's not quite as relentlessly heavy as Batman v Superman, but at least the studio haven't bowed too much to the no doubt strong urge to try and compete for Marvel with a more "accessible" tone. There are signs that they're doing that with The Flash, but this wasn't the right arena for that sort of spirit: they're villains (as they'll keep reminding you), this isn't a bloody fairy tale.

So it seems we can rest assured it hasn't shifted too far to the other extreme.
