16. Linda Kills Zuri & The Captain - Send Help

Sam Raimi's gloriously twisted Send Help is centered around a classically ironic role-reversal, where asshole boss Bradley (Dylan O'Brien) and his underappreciated employee Linda (Rachel McAdams) are the sole survivors of a plane crash, which leaves natural-born survivor Linda the one in charge.

Linda clearly relishes having control of her life for once and so isn't in a rush to be rescued - a truth that's ultimately taken to seriously unhinged ends later on.

Beyond not summoning help when a boat passes by the remote island, Linda later takes active steps to prevent her and Bradley's rescue when Bradley's fiancée, Zuri (Edyll Ismail), arrives on the island with a boat captain.

In a shocking twist, Linda takes Zuri and the captain up to a perilous cliff and causes them to fall to their deaths. 

A safer, lesser film wouldn't have had Linda - a seemingly sympathetic character up to this point - straight-up kill two totally innocent people.

It's an absolute sicko move on Raimi's part, and one that works superbly, in large part due to Rachel McAdams' fantastic performance as Linda.
