15. Quaritch Is Down Bad For Varang - Avatar: Fire & Ash

While it wasn't hugely surprising that Avatar: Fire and Ash was a rather unimaginative rehash of the previous two films, who expected this threequel to be so damn horny?

To say that Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang) gets down bad for Mangkwan clan leader Varang (Oona Chaplin) is quite the understatement. 

After meeting Varang in her tent in the hope of forging an alliance, she doses him with a hallucinogen and cuts his chest with a knife. Though not explicitly sexual, it's pretty damn out-there for a PG-13, "family-friendly" four-quadrant blockbuster.

But the icing on the cake is a subsequent scene where Quaritch meets with his RDA superiors, all while decked out in full Mangkwan garb. 

It's absolutely hilarious, regardless of James Cameron's intent, and launched a million memes about "guys who change their entire personality for the witchy goth babe in their life."

In a film that largely played things too safe, it was a twisted delight to see Quaritch get his freak on so unexpectedly.
