6. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood & Honey

There's surely a parallel universe where Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey came and went while barely making a peep, given that this undeniably cynical $50,000 slasher flick was only produced once A. A. Milne's original Winnie-the-Pooh book entered the public domain in 2022.

And even though the film received near-universal critical scorn while winning five Razzie awards including Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay, it also became something of a viral phenomenon in the lead up to its theatrical release.

And so, it unbelievably went on to gross $7.7 million worldwide - more than 150 times its budget.

Nobody could've seen this coming, and while many understandably expected it to be a one-off success, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 similarly turned a massive profit, in turn establishing a wider world of public domain-facilitated slasher flicks collectively called The Twisted Childhood Universe.

Films based on Peter Pan, Bambi, and Pinocchio have since been released, and a third Winnie-the-Pooh film is in the works alongside an all-encompassing, Avengers-parodying event film entitled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.

In the very least, the producers get credit for striking while the iron is hot.
