Tenet: 10 Reasons It's Christopher Nolan's Worst Film Ever

2. There's No Character Development Or Emotional Content Whatsoever

Tenet is fatally undermined by the fact that there is pretty much no substance here whatsoever. One of the great things about Christopher Nolan is his ability to combine his blockbuster spectacle with powerful stories, as was displayed so well in The Dark Knight films, Interstellar and Inception.

With Tenet, there's absolute none of that. There are no emotional scenes whatsoever, none of the characters have arcs or develop and the entire thing is emotionless, cold and lifeless in every single way.

It's not an exaggeration to say that Tenet is one of the most soulless Hollywood films of recent times. After all, most recent Hollywood action films, even the weak ones, have some sort of character arc or dramatic subplot.

Tenet is an exercise in style and while there's not necessarily anything wrong with going for style instead of substance, the style should at the very least be engaging. Unfortunately, since Tenet is so dull and humourless, it's style-over-substance in the worst way imaginable.
