The development of the Terminator 3 script went something like this: writers sitting around watching the second film and deciding which scenes to lift. A young John Connor teaching the T-800, his momentary father figure, phrases like "hasta la vista" was pretty funny, right? Right. Earmarked for a derivative scene in part three it is. Turn off your brain when watching Rise Of The Machines, and you have a big dumb but relatively fun summer blockbuster. That said, it's not a good movie, and the decision to have Arnold utter "talk to the hand" as some sort of low-rent "hasta la vista, baby" was probably one of the dumbest decisions in big screen dialogue ever. Except for this next one.
