It's not that hard to consider that having a strong female protagonist as the lead in a superhero movie would be something both new and truly awesome - hence why a potential Catwoman movie should be considered and weighed upon as a truly impressive feat. Female superheroes have often been relegated to the hypersexualised sidekicks of brooding heroes - for every strong, well-developed male character, there's been a heroine whose attire revealed more skin than it covered, who is need in rescue or who isn't really developed at all - and that's a shame (it has to be said equally that there are some wonderful female superheroines out there as well). Not only would it be incredible to see a female lead in a film who utterly dominates the silver screen, it'd be a great step forward into a genre of film still littered with the bland love interests and patchy sexism and misogyny out there. I'd personally love a Black Widow film for the same reasons coincidentally. Just putting that out there, Whedon.
