4. It's Full Of Unintentional Comedy

As dead-seriously as the film takes itself, it's absolutely jam-packed with moments sure to have audiences tittering to themselves in the cinema.

Perhaps nothing is more accidentally hilarious than Alfredson's ill-advised decision to constantly zoom in on the various snowmen that the killer leaves at his murder scenes, as though to dubiously imply that the snowmen themselves are somewhat complicit.

There are countless lines of dialogue that don't quite hit the mark and weird beats of acting that feel somewhat off, ensuring that you'll likely be giggling more than you'll be legitimately shocked at any of the killer's bloody kills. That's basically the death knell for a film like this.
